CresFest 2023 Venues

The whole town (gold rush-era buildings, local pubs, cafes and outdoor venues) comes alive with activity and visitors during CresFest. The Festival is held in a number of interesting and historic venues close to the centre of town.

Below are some of the many delightful venues associated with CresFest 2023.

American Hotel 

90 Albert Street,Creswick

Built in the days of gold and glory, the American Hotel stands today as a unique link with Victoria’s gracious and colourful heritage. The American Hotel is renowned for its great food, excellent wines, romantic accommodation and gracious function rooms.

Creswick town hall

70 Albert St Creswick

The Creswick Town Hall was built in 1876 and is a testament to the wonderful architecture of the gold rush period. Recently renovated, the Town Hall features a large traditional hall with polished floorboards and stage and a commercial kitchen

Creswick Courthouse Theatre

2 Raglan St, Creswick

The Creswick Courthouse was built in 1859, and is now home to the Creswick Theatre Company.

If you’re in need little respite from the wild dancing and bar sessions , you can come and make yourself at home at the Courthouse for another kind of ’session’ .

Creswick Havilah Lodge

96 Albert Street, Creswick

Creswick Havilah Lodge is one of Creswick’s oldest organisations. Established in May 1859 it passed its 170th anniversary in May 2019. The current building was opened in 1890. It has a particularly impressive interior with internal murals which date from around 1900.

Visit the Creswick Masters art exhibition held in the Lodge while at the Festival.

A cosy bar in the heart of gold country, serving fine local wines, craft beers, mocktails, cocktails and spirits. Regular live music, acts, and ghost tours.

Creswick Neighbourhood Centre Hall

19-21 Victoria Street Creswick

Located in the historical buildings in Victoria Street, the precinct includes The Hall, House, Community Garden, Growling Grass Frog Wetland, and welcoming shared spaces to enjoy including under the old oak tree – a favourite place during summer.

Creswick RSL

60 Albert Street, Creswick

The RSL in the main street of Creswick becomes the CresFest Hub during the Festival. Come here to exchange your tickets for armbands, and for everything you need to know about the Festival.

Farmers Arms Hotel

31 Albert St, Creswick

A historical pub featuring exposed brick, large concrete bar, pressed metal, award wining chefs, live music, spacious dining rooms, 12 beers on tap.

Napier St Creswick

The Creswick Primary School was established after gold was discovered in Creswick Creek in 1851. By 1854 the population had “ballooned” to over 5,000 residents. On May 15 1854 Mrs. Marion M. Collins opened the Creswick Creek National School on the corner of Albert and Water Streets in Creswick on a one-acre allotment, fenced in and included a garden. This site is now occupied by the Town Hall and the Council Chambers. On January the 12th. 1874 the school moved to its present site in Napier Street.
