Tenzin Choegyal

“Music is like drifting clouds that fly freely over the man-made geographical borders in this infinite space of possibilities.” -Tenzin Choegyal.
Tenzin Choegyal
One of the world's finest Tibetan musicians, Tenzin Choegyal is a master of traditional Tibetan instruments, but is best known for his extraordinary vocal ability.
Tenzin has performed at major festivals across Australia and internationally, including at New York’s Carnegie Hall. While continuing the unbroken nomadic lineage which is central to his repertoire, Tenzin also embraces opportunities to take his music into more contemporary, uncharted territory.
His 9 albums include collaborations with Philip Glass (“The Last Dalai Lama?”) and 2021 Grammy-nominated Songs from the Bardo with Laurie Anderson – a moving interpretation of the Tibetan Book of the Dead.
